Tonight we received more information about the of BEL1 in Algeria. It seems that Algerian authorities were very helpful. Boats under the balloon approaching the shore, and police, the army (with loaded guns…), and medical services at the spot. After packing, our brave pilots had to go to a hospital for a complete medical check-up, luckily the local doctors saw very quickly that you have to be a little bit ‘pleasantly disturbed’ to fly over the Mediterranean from Europe to Africa in a small basket of a free flying balloon.

Greetings out Algeria

Our team received food and drinks and all the material is in an army truck now, together with the FIN1 equipment. Ronny and Luc & Olli Luoma and Ben Mattssson are already together and this morning they will get reunited with the AUT1 team.

Our  is enjoying a nice ‘holiday’ in Alicante, Spain. They can bring home another balloon if necessary… land next to our trailer please!

And for our pilots: we’re sure that they can write a book about their adventure and in Africa.
